The luxuriously appointed Yorkshire Room at Henry Bucks is now open.

The Yorkshire Room is our renowned VIP retreat at Henry Bucks flagship store at 320 Collins Street, Melbourne. The name, Yorkshire Room, has been chosen, as the store’s founders (Henry & Laura Buck) were proud and headstrong Yorkshire-folk and part of the heritage of Henry Bucks is the North Country integrity and straight shooting attention to service and honest product.

As one of Australia’s oldest family-owned national retailer, Henry Bucks wants to celebrate and share its 124 year history. The Yorkshire Room, therefore is not only be a unique space for special VIP customers, bespoke suiting, and other gentlemen’s accessories and accoutrements – but an inner sanctum to house items of interest from the archives of Henry Bucks.

Henry Bucks has dressed most Prime Ministers of Australia since 1890. Sir Robert Menzies was a particularly good customer and close friend of the family. General McArthur and many of the allied forces’ personnel were made-to-measure shirt customers during World War II. Many visiting actors including Gregory Peck whilst making On the Beach shopped at Henry Bucks. Squizzy Taylor was gunned to death in 1927 wearing a Henry Bucks silk shirt.

Henry Bucks was awarded a coveted Royal Warrant in 1996 by the Duke of Kent for services to British export. Many famous artists such as David Hockney, Barry Humphries and John Olsen have been customers.
