Beaucaire 1927

Beaucaire's story began in 1927 on Sydney Road in Coburg North, Melbourne, where Henry Buck founded the original Beaucaire knitting mill. In its early years the mill produced everything from pullovers and woollen bathers to hard-wearing lumber jackets, practical, well-made clothing for Australian men from an era when even swimwear was knitted from wool.

Nearly a century later, Beaucaire remains synonymous with quality craftsmanship and timeless Australian menswear. The spirit of those early mill-made garments lives on in a collection built on premium fabrics, considered construction and enduring style, designed to be worn and enjoyed season after season.

Today the range centres on outerwear and denim, including waxed jackets cut from British Millerain cloth. Founded in 1880 in the north of England, the mill is one of the world's foremost makers of waxed and technically treated fabrics, and its waxed cotton develops a unique patina with age, so each jacket becomes as individual as the man who wears it. Alongside quilted and denim jackets, denim and hats, it's a modern wardrobe of hard-wearing essentials with nearly 100 years of Australian heritage behind it.
