About 100Hands About 100Hands

100Hands is an Amsterdam-based shirtmaker built on one guiding principle: craftsmanship. The brand grew from a family textile heritage stretching back more than 160 years, and from a family atelier of five exceptional tailors that became the foundation for its bespoke shirtmaking. Co-founder Akshat, then an investment banker in Amsterdam, and his partner Varvara recognised that this level of artistry deserved a wider audience, and in February 2014 they launched 100Hands.

The name reflects the brand's approach. After studying their process, the founders found that a truly perfect handmade shirt required the work of 50 artisans, or 100 hands. They spent months building a dedicated workshop in India capable of a level of handwork that few others could match, and the shirts quickly won admirers among some of the world's most discerning tailors.

Today 100Hands is a team of 170 craftsmen, yet it keeps the spirit of a small, family-run company, supporting its artisans' families with children's education and medical care. Its ambition is to set a new standard of quality for the industry, guided by the belief that a garment's excellence comes from the skill of the hands that make it, not from its country of origin.
