Dubarry

Dubarry was founded in 1937 in Ballinasloe, County Galway, in the west of Ireland. Originally established as a joint venture between the local Chamber of Commerce and the Cullen family, the company drew on traditional footwear-making expertise from Northampton, England's historic shoemaking centre, and soon built a reputation for quality craftsmanship.

The brand's defining moment came in the early 1990s, when Dubarry became the first brand in the world to obtain a GORE-TEX licence to manufacture leather sailing boots. The result, the Shamrock Boot, gave sailors waterproof, breathable leather footwear designed specifically for life at sea. Adapted for the countryside, the design evolved into the Galway Country Boot, which remains largely unchanged today and is one of Dubarry's most recognisable styles.

Today Dubarry of Ireland is internationally renowned for premium footwear and clothing that combine performance, craftsmanship and timeless style. Every product is still designed by the brand's in-house team in Ballinasloe, where quality control is also managed, blending traditional materials with the latest technologies to create sailing and country collections built for life outdoors.
